Etsy tariff calculator
The tariff on an Etsy order to the US has two parts: the General rate of your item’s 10-digit HTS line, and the Chapter 99 add-on for the country where it was made (for example +10% for the UK, a 10% floor for the EU). Pick your HTS code in step 3 below and the duty table shows both parts. Etsy’s own estimator lives inside Shop Manager and does not handle price variations (Etsy Help).
Questions
How is the US tariff on an Etsy order calculated?
Duty = customs value × (HTS General rate + the Chapter 99 rate for the origin country). The customs value is normally the item price the buyer paid. Some countries have a floor instead of an add-on.
Where do I find my HTS code?
Search by words or digits in the free HTS lookup, then verify the line on hts.usitc.gov. Etsy says it does not guarantee the codes its tool suggests.
Does the tariff depend on where I ship from?
No, on where the goods were made (country of origin). Your Etsy fees depend on your bank country.
